Large rectangular ashtrays were part of the Peter Pots line from the beginning through the 1960s. This is an exceptional example of the design made in the 1960s and signed by Mrs. Carsten. Brown was the most popular glaze color at the time and there there were fewer made like this in Seagull Blue, and this one has an especially deep blue tone and flowing color on a deep red clay body. In as-new condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. Heavy and solid, about 7” square and 1” in height.
