See our Pottery in 3D!
Peter Pots Pottery was born at 54 Meeting Street on College Hill on the
East Side of Providence. We then moved to the Carriage House at 30 Benefit
Street, also on the College Hill, and later to 14 Sheldon Street in West
Warwick. In 1954, we moved to what has been our home ever since, the historic
Glen Rock Mill at 494 Glen Rock Road in West Kingston.
To be true to
our " stoneware standards", we prefer to remain a small group of craftsmen
selling our ware at the Pottery in West Kingston, through the mail by
catalog and via the Internet. As we approach our fifth decade, we still
produce many of the designs that we introduced in Providence, and we
still offer our time-honored colors of Mahogany Brown and Seagull Blue.
We give exacting attention to handles, spouts, and pouring lips, and
to the balance and size of our stoneware. Each item must be perfect
before it is signed "Peter Pots". The stoneware articles assembled here
are all designed and made by the craftsmen at Peter Pots. In addition,
we also formulate our own glazes and blend the stoneware clay that gives
our product its unique luster and strength. Careful craftsmanship requires
extra time, and since we wish to make only the best, we ask that you
allow us the few weeks necessary to make an outstanding article if it
is currently out of stock.
With the same care given our pottery, we have created this Web site
to assist you in your year-round gift selection. We only wish we could
include the hush of the brook that passes our door, and mingle this
soft sound with a whiff of the pines that brush the stone walls of our
old grist mill that is now a pottery. Until the time when you can visit
us, and for our friends across the country who can not get to us, this
Web site will bring the color and craftsmanship of Peter Pots Kingston
Kilns to you.
